The southwest monsoon trough is likely to resume its progress over the western parts of the country after more than two weeks, as conditions are favourable for the trough to advance over more parts of Maharashtra around Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department said. The western branch of the trough has been in the same position since Jun. 8. Conditions are also favourable for the trough to move over more parts of Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar, and some parts of Chhattisgarh around Tuesday, the weather department said. Read more
